Coverack, The Lizard, Cornwall Posted by Sue on 10/5/2012, 11:43:58
We Recently spent a couple of nights down on The Lizard peninsula. First night ate at The Housel Bay Hotel, The Lizard, which seemed clued up about what was gluten free and what was not. Very good food but not a huge menu.
Second night came across The Paris Hotel, in Coverack, when we went in for a hot chocolate on a very wet and cold afternoon.
Noticed the menu was all marked up with gluten free dishes, including lasagne, and some 'crumbed' starters. Went back a couple of hours later for our evening meal and it was great. We were put on a table in the restaurant which overlooks the sea and coastal footpath, but you could stay in the bar area to eat if you wish.
I had the gluten free lasagne and it was delicious - in fact, the waiter told me, everyone gets to eat the gf one, they don't make ordinary. Hubby had chilli con carne which was also marked as gluten free. There was plenty of gf choices on the menu. Finished off with a raspberry pavlova which was huge - like an elephant's foot, with clotted cream and raspberries!
I would certainly recommend this one and was so glad I came across it by chance.
