Canterbury, Kent: Boho CafeWe ate in here yesterday for lunch where I enjoyed a gluten free brie, bacon and sweet onion chutney pitta, which was delicious! They're decor is funky and different and there is a fun and friendly vibe. They offer white and brown gluten free bread and gluten free pittas. Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo as it was so good I ate it all as soon as it was put infront of me!! .... So if you pay a trip to Canterbury, Boho is your place for lunch! gluten-free-queen.blogspot.co.uk/p/eating-out.html

Oscar & Bentleys in Canterbury Posted by GFT on 27/7/2013, 17:58:30 Visited Oscar & Bentleys in Canterbury and it was a lovely experience to have the whole menu 100% gluten free. Good choice of dishes and beautifully prepared. Unfortunately, we had only time for lunch and were unable to come back for tea, to taste all those delicious looking cakes on offer, but another reason to come back to Kent I think! www.oscar-bentleys.co.uk/

Oscar & Bentleys, Canterbury Posted by Audrey on 17/9/2013, 19:58:52
I have to add my praises to previous reports of visits to Oscar and Bentleys on this Board. It is conveniently situated just off the High Street, close to the Cathedral, at 10 Guildhall Street, CT1 2JQ. Tel: 01227 454544.
Went to Canterbury last week and just had to try them out. For tea I had a lovely scone (choice of fruit or plain) with jam and clotted cream and then was a pig and had a slice of gateau as well - chocolate and mint (though there was a selection of four or five types of cake). Had a chat with the owners' mother - she is a coeliac.
Went back later for dinner. Didn't have the fish and chips because we have an excellent place near home, but saw what other diners were eating and it looked wonderful with lovely batter. The people eating it said the cod was really fresh. I had a chicken dish and my husband (non-GF) had the burger. Both were good. My husband had red wine and I tried the Celia (Czech) gluten free beer. Two non-GF beers are available for non-coeliac guests, but ALL the food is gluten free. The staff are pleasant, the service was good and the decor is lovely. Highly recommended.
Please make use of this place so that it keeps going. I worry that it will suffer the same fate as Des Si et Des Mets in Paris which sadly closed down some time ago, presumably through lack of custom.
