Liverpool, Merseyside
Went to see Peter Kay in Liverpool tonight , ate at www.everyman.co.uk/.
They are able to advise on which dishes are GF and have a wide variety of Veggy dishes too.
Had Squash and Coriander Soup followed by Pork Dijons with Rice.
Food could only be described as "okay" but the veggy with us was in paradise. The first time I've ever seen her spoilt for choice.

From Everyman Bistro re GF food & GF veggie,
good to know the General Manager is coeliac :
**************************
Thanks for your enquiry. About half our 'main meals' menu is vegetarian but some dishes contain pasta. However we would normally have something like vegetable curry, greek salad etc. Our menu changes twice a day so, if possible, it is best to ring before you come and find out what's on.
We always have a good range of salads available and we try to have t least two gluten free options in the desserts. I am a coeliac myself so I do nag the chefs!
If you would like to discuss in more detail please don't hesitate to call me on 0151 709 0249.
Best wishes

At Liverpool airport they didn't have the GF sandwich, but managed to get a choc chip cake after asking. The guy wanted to unwrap it for me (he'd just taken it out of a box in the fridge), but I explained to him I wouldn't buy it if he did cause of any cross contamination. Gave him a bit of a talking to about using the same tongues etc, he was really interested about it and said he'd check in the future. Another one educated!!
BTW, the choc slice is MUCH better than the Cafe Nero one, which I found really dry with a strange aftertaste. It's moist and tastes very chocolatey

GF Take Away Delivery
by Jill Liverpool » Tue Jun 21, 2005 3:49 pm
A colleague has just told me about this service. Restaurant quality foods delivered to your door ready for zapping in the microwave.
Looking at the site the menu changes every week and lists if foods are GF. Average £15 for two main courses which come with two veg portions each, about half and hour for delivery and ten mins to to heat up.

Algarve Portuguese Restaurant
by Jill Liverpool » Mon Jul 25, 2005 3:10 pm
Ate out over the weekend, had a fabulous meal in Algarve Portuguese Restaurant (Liverpool), on Saturday night. I'd been there a couple of times pre CD, but shall now be there more often now Rice and chips with every meal, (didn't have chips wasn't sure) great fish menu, it was nice to have the special, 'grilled bezu', I could not have it pan fired as this involves flour. Waiter checked ingredients with me, but food isn't fussed over and over processed anyhow.
No need to pre book this place.

I was in Liverpool for the New Year and before I travelled I checked out the internet for restaurants, I discovered 'Simply Heathcotes Liverpool'(0044 1512363536) on the net and i had the advantage of previewing the available menu. I spoke to the chef when i phoned to make a booking and he reassured me that I could have the majority of options on the menu. When I arrived to the restaurant, the service was outstanding and the chef came to my table and suggested difference gluten free sauces that would suit my chosen meal. I really appreciated the way he took the time out, even though the restaurant was very busy that night. I would give this restaurant full marks and would recommend this place to other coeliac's travelling to Liverpool
