Hotel - Palma Nova Majorca

GF board
i, jst wanted to share my wonderful experience on an all inclusive holiday at Sol Mirlos/Tordos hotel in Palma Nova, Majorca.
The Hotel was a Flintstones land hotel which was as you can guess mainly a family resort. Everything was excellent from entertainment, to hotel facilities and especially the food.
I could not believe how well I was treated when I showed my spanish gf translation card a few days into the holiday. I have never mentioned it when abroad before as I normally just munch away happily on salad and fruit, but as I am training for a half marathon and was running every morning on hols, I had to have some carbs.
I was given two A4 pages listing gf food which I could order in advance of next meal. They had lots of different rolls, breads, cakes, biscuits, pasta, even yoghurts were on the list. I just let the head waiter know what I wanted and it was ready for me when I went in for next meal. All the restaurant staff knew who I was after a couple of days and were extremely helpful. The breadrolls were lovely as was everything they made for me!! I couldnt believe it, If only it was this easy in the UK.
There was a family with 2 GF children, 1 aged 4 and one aged 2 and they were amazed too and not only the selection of gf food on offer, but how efficient and helpful the staff were!!
I will most certainly be going back next year!!

Yes Tina it was me, We went to Sa Coma, which isn't far from here. We had a great time. I have to say the experience was far better than here. My daughter not only had CD, but has intolerances to egg, soya, lactose corn and eggs. We went to several restaurants armed with the translation card. Juans Steak house and JJ's in Sa Coma. In Juans we ate there 3/4 times, just sticking to grilled fish and jacket potatoes and salade. JJ's again she had steak and jacket, but it was tough as old boots! We even went to our favourite restuarant in Cala Bona, which is a fish restaurant we went to pre diagnosis called Escador on the harbour, where I had mussells etc. It is a real treat, fillet steak was great too there. They fried her a seperate piece of chicken and the chips are fried in a seperate frier too.Ask for Sergio there, he comes across as a bit blunt at first, but he is wonderful!
I did take a few essentials with me, like cereal and pasta and sausages, but did see all the meats were labelled well in Eroski. I would take my own bread next time though, as struggled to find any fresh gf bread. If you want more details, pls let me know and I will give you my e-mail address
