From Gill
...I encourage everyone to try a bit of home baking - and recommend the following gingerbread men recipe sent to me by Jenny (thanks Jenny!):
75g butter 1 egg 100g brown sugar (I use soft) 250g self raising flour ( I use juvela mix and no baking powder so I'm thinking they are meant to come out differently from mine but I like mine the way they are anyway !!!) 2 tbs syrup 1 tsp ground ginger
rub in the flour, sugar, ginger and butter, add syrup and egg. Roll out on floured surface and cut into gingerbread men...
bake in oven for 10 - 15 minutes at Gas mark 3
....about 12 X 6" high gingerbread men - not sure exactly as cooking with my daughter is a bit chaotic and she decided to use some of the mix to make smaller shapes to 'decorate' the larger shapes.
