Here is the recipe ...
250g unsalted butter 550g flour 100g icing sugar 2 eggs
beat butter and sugar together beat in eggs blend in flour chill in fridge for one hour
For regular pastry use ordinary butter and leave out sugar.
I used salted butter in mine and they were fine. I also added about 50g of ground almonds.
(stupidly I didn't take the butter out of the fridge to soften. I chopped it up into small cubes, but my handmixer couldn't cope with it. I had to wait for it to soften) I think it's a brilliant recipe….. …….a large mixer which would be good for blending in the flour. I did mine with a wooden spoon then my hands......
…..no oven temperature or timing given when David posted the recipe. I cooked mine at 180 degrees (fan oven) for roughly 15 minutes. I think all ovens vary, so you just need to keep an eye on them until they're the colour you like.
