My 31 yr old B-in-L died a few years ago and he was on about 30 different tablets a day at the end, he had had a prescription filled the day before, my sister tried to give these back to the pharmacy and was told they could not accept them as she could have tampered with them. - what a stupid waste.
When I was in hospital (few years ago now - had a problem with my eyes so was "healthy" and sort of mobile) I could not eat the slop they tried to feed me at night (and this as a very very unfussy eater) so DH used to bring me my tea in every night for me but the hospital had to give me a meal every night and then throw it away - this sort of thing needs addressing

When my Husband passed away hehad just had a repeat prescription of Warfarin and different sorts of heart pills and statins on returning them to the Chemist a couple of weeks later he said they would all have to be destoyed. He also had two boxes of very expensive injections that he had to use instead of warfarin for a while, the Doctor would not take them off me nor the Chemist, so in the end I smashed them with a hammer. What a hell of a waste of money, these alone cost a fortune. What is this world coming too.
