I have to say I'm shocked by that. I agree with everything Sheona said. The people that make these decisions obviously don't have to live with a gluten free diet themselves - or they wouldn't have put Ener-G stuff on prescription and missed other products out! I hope Coeliac UK can put some pressure on to this PCT and send out a message to other PCTs that this is totally unacceptable.

Wow that is restrictive to say the least. I use quite a lot of rice flour and tapioca starch so would be lost without these in particular. I have never seen tapioca starch in any supermarket so would really struggle without it on prescription. Have you referred this to CUK?

What was the basis of this PCT's decision? If it was cost, what costs? Where did they get their list of costs from? What is their estimated saving?
If it was on health grounds, what rationale for the products they have selected?
Anyone any idea?
