Romanian Ministry of Health has approved the setting up up of the Romanian National Coeliac Disease Centre. Karin Köber, from the Romanian Association, has been invited to participate in the formation of this centre. As part of this centre, a national laboratory for gluten contamination detection in food is planned to be set up. Our Romanian colleagues are requesting information on similar laboratories and produces of detecting kits and technology, so as to contact and possible collaborate with them. They have asked the board to send out this information to all Members and if anyone has any useful information, he is kindly asked to contact Karin on: karin_koeber@web.de.

GF board
I go to Romania at least once per year ( my wife is Romanian), I always take my own bread & mixes to make more when I run out. You may find some products in the larger hypermarkets that have been imported are gluten free, but you will have to hunt around. When I contacted the coeliac society in Romania all they could advise was 'Poiana' chocolate was gf, & said it is such a problem to find anythng gf.
