Hi David
I am Paulette, 50yrs diagnosed with CD 4 years ago now and then with type 2 diabetes Aug 2010. Not on any medication
I have a wonderful DN who allowed me to monitor my blood sugars daily by Testing, Testing, Testing everything that went in...
I soon discovered what made my sugars spike and what to avoid... and I joined a fabulous Diabetic board called DSF and learned invaluable info on managing my diabetes.
I , too, lost weight...3 stones in all
I seem to be stuck at the mo and need to organise myself so I can lose weight, exercise regularly and therefore increase my chances of staying off meds...
I am managing to keep my fasting bg's at around 6.0 - 7.0 in the morning on waking and then as long as I keep testing until I am fully clued up on what does and doesn't affect me, I shall hopefully see it even out much better thru the day
Considering, when I was forst dagnosed with type 2 my count was 16.9 and is now in single figures in the day I am well chuffed.
David, you have done so well too....and with all the g/f recipes you have too, I am looking forward to more tips and ideas on managing both these diets combined!

UPDATE:
Following on from my initial intro, I have since been prescribed Metformin 1000mg per day and recently diagnosed with Pernicious Anaemia so on B!2 injections every other day for the next 2 weeks...
It is very hard combining the 2 diets, I confess am struggling, only when out and about or in a hurry kind of struggling, home cooking am ok with, but am sure we will get there !
Lots of info available nowadays too...
