I cruised last year with Thompson (Topaz)and this year with P&O (Oceana)both were excellent with the GF.
Thompson provided a GF menu for each meal I ate three courses for lunch and dinner.
P&O gave me the menu the day before - the chef made special soups/sauces for me if none wre GF, he did a dessert for each meal and made fresh GF bread rolls. When I arrived I had two boxes of Glutafin selection bicutes in the cabin, even at the chocoholic buffet there were two trays of gluten free cakes. The excursions that included food ie lunch were specially arranged to be GF
I highly recommend both companies.

P&O Cruise Posted by Jacqui on 6/5/2004 GF board
Just to let you know that the GF food on board Adonia was yet again excellent. Fresh roll with each meal, a couple of times mine looked better than my other half's and I had to double check I had the right one - they did me an Escalope, the breadcrumb coating was so good I worried that they had made a mistake and left half of it - it was ok as I had no reaction! GF biscuits in the cabin every day too!!
I highly recommend P&O cruises

My husband and I went on the Norwegian Cruise Line from Miami, through the Panama Canal and down through Peru and Chile. The food was dreadful as one day I was given ordinary pasta with pork, most days the bread was stale and even though I was given my own sous chef after pointing out my difficulties, the problems continued. The day after he was given to me, the chef went to Machu Pichu for several days to look after a group of passengers and when he came back the captain wanted him to cook for him. (Huh!) The chef left specific instructions as to what to cook and prepare for me but it wasn't followed through eg baked alaska served to me and when I pointed out the cake they took it away and cut it off.
It is so embarassing when you are in company.
I would never recommend them or go with them myself again. Vee

There is a letter in current Vegetarian magazine in which a vegetarian with CD says re Oceana (P&O): ************************************ ...Each night the Restaurant Manager visted me with a handful of menus from which I could choose anything listed and the chef would make it to suit my dietary needs accordingly......five course meal every night, GF veggie breakfast & an endless buffet at lunch time.....four cakes each day at afternoon tea.....

We went on a P&O cruise last year and my daughter, who was 8 at the time and coeliac, had some fantastic GF meals in the restaurant. Freshly baked GF rolls with each meal, and we were able to view the following days menu a day earlier so we could choose what meal she was going to have. They even put GF biscuits in the cabin and one of the chefs baked a GF chocolate cake so that she didn't miss out on one of the childrens parties. It was great not having to worry.
