Las Vegas Posted by Fiona on 11/12/2004,GF board
I loved Vegas when I went, I soon learnt that they don't really understand the word Coeliac, or Coeliac Sprue as it is called in America but they do understand wheat allergy so I got by that way. Most places we ate at the burgers were gluten free, so had them without the bun, also had lots of chef salads - yummy, without the croutons. At the time I was out there - last year - the thousand island dressing was the only one gluten free but it might have changed now. In Vegas we ate alot at the buffet kitchens for breakfast and dinner as you can eat all you like for a set price. B'fast was fab, lots of ham, eggs, veggies, cereals, yogurt etc, we found earlier best for breakfast. Dinner was alot more busier but they had plain roasted meats, vegetables, jacket potato and were very helpful in pointing out in the kitchen areas what I could have. Hope you enjoy a day trip to the grand canyon, we did, we let them know in advance of my diet request and I had barbecued chicken and salad and fresh fruit for my lunch, very nice. I took crackers with me, a pizza base as they will top it for you if you ask like over here. Enjoy yourself, you'll have a great time and don't gamble to much!
