Wing Yip supermarkets Posted by Ayesha on 24/6/2007 GF board I went to the Wing Yip supermarket in Purley Way the other day and aside from the usual suspects ie rice, rice noodles I found to my (MAJOR) delight in the frozen section: Sweet gluntinous rice balls with filling to make desserts (will report back on those at some point), Bean curd and yam sausages - these are veggie and are a yam filling wrapped in bean curd film. They actually tasted really nice. Spring rolls (vegetarian) - made from soy bean wraps. These again were really nice and it was really nice to be able to join in when everyone else had their spring rolls. Thai fish cakes - these are quite small compared to normal fish cakes. If you like spicy (I do) these were fantastic. Fish balls - these were balls of fish that you can drop into soup or something. I haven't tried them yet but they were really well labelled and they had different types of fish to choose from. I also found quite a few pastes which won't take much to turn into a sauce, normally when I go to sainsburys I've found things like black bean sauce always have wheat flour added where as these didnt. Fresh noodles - I also found fresh rice noodles to eat in the chiller section which look really nice. …. www.wingyip.com/page-496.html****************
