Restaurant The Novice, Nr Arnhem, Netherlands Posted by Dawn on 28/7/2010 GF board Had an excellent meal here a couple of weeks ago. If anyone is passing through East Holland near Arnhem this is a real gem of a place. They have both a restaurant and a bistro. I was able to eat most things off the menu. They were incredibly knowledgable about gluten free food and contamination. I was given a GF alternative to all the complimentary nibbles, chocolates etc and there was GF bread too. The service was excellent - they automatically brought me my own butter for bread etc - and told me when they brought each course that it was gluten free and what moderations had been made (changing sauce, no croutons). Rather than being a normal meal without things, mine had different things added so that I didn't feel like I was goind without. I heard the staff speaking good English and think they also had an English menu for both restaurant and bistro. www.thenovice.nl/ The restaurant is fairly near Arnhem and the Hoge Veluwe National Park (where the Kroller-Muller art gallery is). Highly recommended.
