.....in case you are going away for a weekend or anything I have just come back from the Castlecourt Hotel in Westport. I have never come across such a great place for people knowing about coeliac condition. I had booked on the net so they had no prior warning that I needed a gf diet. We hadnt intended to dine in the hotel as there are so many lovely restaurants there (we knew from a previous visit) but at this time of the year alot of them were closed so we went back to the hotel. I asked for my meal and told them that i didnt want gravy or white sauce as i was on a gf diet and i asked for some garlic butter. I had a foreign waiter who at the end of my meal told me to make sure to ask for some gf bread with my breakfast!! There were plenty of choices on the breakfast menu and i got my gf toast which was lovely. The second evening we dined there too and this time we got a girl who was French and extremely jolly. None of the main courses were gf but I was asked which one I would like and the chef made is gf for me. when we got the menu for dessert I asked about something on it which i didnt understand . She said "no that is not for you, it is no gf". they were amazing - everyone knew what they were talking about. I was so impressed and the hotel was so lovely - big rooms with big beds and we had reflexology and indian head massage too. I wondered later if I had made it known beforehand that I was coming would there have been a better choice of desserts - there was really only ice cream and cheese and non gf crackers (I had my own with me). marylinda coeliacforum.paddyserver.com//to ...
