Last weekend I stayed at the Hinckley Island Hotel near Leiceter and can highly recommend the food. I was there for a Sci ifi convention and they laid on a special buffet meal each evening at a budget price of £5.50. On the first evening I asked to speak to the chef to see whether there was anything I could eat and he could not have been more helpful. He went through all the buffet items and told me what I could not eat, but he even offered to cook me something different if I didn't like the choice I had left. One evening was an Italian themed evening, so he made sure he also put plain salmon out with boiled new potatoes and green beans so I could have something from the main buffet and not feel awkward. I didn't bother with lunch as the breaksfast were huge, but they were doing plain jacket potatoes and again the chef said if I went to find him he would cook especially for me. I told the chef how helpful I had found him and how rare it was for someone to actually know about CD. He says he caters for a lot of large conferences, including some NHS ones and often has gluten free requirements so he is used to it. Debra health.groups.yahoo.com/group/UK ... ssage/5459
