GF food in Newcastle
Posted by davidmc on 11/4/2007 Gf board
….. a good place for GF food in Newcastle.
It is called the Coffee House and Deli.
It is located at South Parade at the Kilkeel end of town near the harbour and you can park close to it on the roadside. The owner is really clued up on coeliac issues and is determined to provide only good additive free food. She offers filled GF Moilas rolls and baguettes as well as GF soups, filled baked potatoes and offers lovely homemade choc brownies heated and served with cream. The deli has a GF section with some products that I have never seen before. You are assured of a helpful response. Apparantly she used to sell the brownies in St Georges Market in Belfast. She is so careful to use GF chocolate that she tops the brownies with cadburys choc buttons only. Cost? About £10 for two so not bad at that. …..She used to run the cafe at Seaforde garden centre and offered GF but now her husband is in charge there. They don't have any GF food there now except soup which comes from the cafe in Newcastle ……
