Posted by Andy (Herts) on 28/7/2009 GF board Having just returned from a holiday in Devon and Cornwall, I wanted to sing the praises of a couple of places which helped to make the holiday even more enjoyable. Firstly, the Rydon Inn and Restaurant in Holsworthy. This was on the recommended list from the North Devon (Barnstaple) Coeliac UK local group ... The menu choice was small but select, supplemented by the daily specials on the blackboard. Each item on the menu was clearly marked if it was suitable for coeliacs or could be adjusted easily to be gluten free - i.e. in my case I had a homemade burger with a gluten free bun. The landlady and all her staff were so helpful, very welcoming and clued up on coeliac requirements. As this was close to where we were staying, we ate there twice during the week. All the food is cooked fresh to order. It was lovely to go somewhere and be catered for so easily. The Rydon Inn can be found on the A3072 just west of Holsworthy. The full address is Bude Road, Holsworthy, Devon, EX22 7HU - Tel: 01409 259444. www.rydon-inn.com
