Re: Dartmouth Posted by Eileen ...on 23/7/2008 GF board I like eating on The Res Nova. It is under new ownership and I haven't eaten there yet this year, (may be there this Friday, weather permitting). It's a super place to sit and enjoy lunch if the weather is good. They'll pick you up in their courtesy water taxi too. Here's a link:- www.resnova.co.uk/ Also there's The Royal Castle Inn which do bar snacks aswell as meals. (I prefer the bar on the right-hand side as you enter). Although the menus aren't marked 'GF', they are usually helpful if you explain. Here's a link:- www.royalcastle.co.uk/

Dartmouth Posted by BrianEmail User on 29/7/2016, 12:33:49 Stuck in the middle of Dartmouth with two dogs and feeling very hungry. A quick gluten free restaurant search returned several bistro's and restaurants, unfortunately not suitable for the dogs. I know, there is a take-away listed as gluten free, I said, let's buy from there and support them. Reach the shop and ask the person serving "is your food gluten free"? His reply left me speechless! "Yes Sir, we have a gluten free batter for our fish and chips but it has some gluten in it and not suitable for coeliacs." I'm not overly surprised. Lots of people visiting Dartmouth who would like to follow the gluten free fad I guess. A quick walk up the street revealed a fish and chip shop with a gluten free batter, gluten free deep fat fryer for the fish and a policy of not cooking anything containing gluten with the main chip fat fryer - perfect. Tables outside and plenty of space for the dogs - happy eater. It's called Wheelhouse Dartmouth and well worth a visit. www.wheelhousedartmouth.co.uk/
