I stayed at the Holiday inn in Plymouth last weekend and the hotel catered for me very well. The restaurant manager - Jeremy- arranged for me to have a special sauce with my meal etc - the breakfast was also very good and staff there had a good knowledge of the risks of contamination etc - even down to toasting my bread.

........... re the Theatre Royal, Plymouth. Went to see Romeo and Juliet ballet there on Thursday night and as I was in Upper Circle had to walk through the bar and restaurant area.
I took time to have a look at their menu as I have eaten their once before over a year ago and I am pleased to tell you all that there are 4 main courses marked Gluten Free. I think they change their menu every so often but the lady behind the food counter said the present one is staying until April.
Next time I go to Plymouth I think I will go and give it a try as it looked very good. I think there was a vegetarian dish, a fish, and 2 meat dishes.
Think the desserts only had 1 or ice creams.
I don't know if you can still access their menu on the theatre website, you certainly could last year.

Went to Plymouth and ate out at a new restaurant called 'Rocky's, 41-42 Southside Street in the Barbican. Tel 01752 227392 www.rockysgrill.co.uk
The owner's wife is a coeliac and the menu has been designed to be gf friendly. I had curry the first night and then chicken with a super sauce the next. GF deserts are also available. The place is popular so probably best to book in advance
