We've been using the restaurant at Notcutts Garden Centre, Nuneham Courtenay, Oxon, for donkey's years, and since being diagnosed coeliac I've been able to get a Sunday roast there because they've always carved the meat from the joint while you wait, and you've had the option of gravy. Looks like they've stopped doing that, and the options on their jacket spuds aren't too helpful - however, we had a word with one of the kitchen staff and learned that one of the staff has a family member who is coeliac, and she has clued people up. As a result, they can accommodate a coeliac diet if you don't mind waiting, or if you ring in before going. Obviously this can't be regarded as policy at Notcutts garden centres in general, it's more of an 'unofficial' arrangement which they don't advertise. It's also the case that although she was aware of CD, they obviously didn't have many requests for GF lunches. Encouraging all the same.
