My husband and I visited Cotehele House and Gardens near Saltash on Sunday and we went into the cafe as I heard they hopefully may have some gluten free cakes.
It was amazing, it was lunchtime but it did not matter that we only had a cake and not a main meal. First I had a gluten free scone with butter and then I followed this with a gluten free SAFFRON BUN. They were both lovely (and warm too!) Being Cornish this is a favourite in all the bakers shops but I haven't had one for more than 11 years.
Anyway for you information there was a choice of cakes, which included the saffron bun, chocolate brownie, gf lemon cake, gf ginger cake, and gf fruit cake. What a choice! Individually wrapped slices were displayed on the cake table on their own platter which was marked with a gluten free sign.
