Posted by Vikki (Poole) on 6/7/2013, 17:19:28 Hey everyone Back from Cornwall and have to say we had a brilliant time! We stayed at The Lookout Guesthouse. It's run by a lovely couple named Steve and Jackie. Jackie is a coeliac, so it's probably the most securely gluten free establishment I've stayed at here in the South. Jackie greeted us with a pot of tea and mini homemade bakewell tart/cake things, which were delicious. And breakfast this morning before we left was fruit juice, a pot of tea, baked beans, roasted vine tomatoes, gluten free muffin topped with two poached eggs, AND toast with jam!!!! I didn't need to eat for the rest of the day but it was all spectacular. (Not to mention the room we were in was GORGEOUS!!! Nothing in that place was less than perfect!) Anyway, we went for dinner at Terra Nova in Lostwithiel and that food was worth driving all the way to Cornwall for! My husband had battered sweet chilli prawns to start, while I had a vegetarian antipasti platter (sundried tomatoes, a bowl of olives, homemade focaccia, sliced tomatoes and mozzarella drizzled with balsamic vinegar and olive oil on a bed of rocket and peppers stuffed with feta, ). Then he had a pizza, while I had gluten free tomato and mascarpone pasta with garlic focaccia. I couldn't finish it because the portions were ENORMOUS! I couldn't very well not have dessert, given that almost everything on their dessert menu is gluten free so we shared a gf chocolate orange cheesecake with warm caramel sauce and amaretti cream. Everything was amazing and even though I ate so much I was in physical pain afterwards, it was worth every single over-stuffed bite and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. It's just as well they're over 3 hours' drive from us or between the B&B and Terra Nova, I'd be the size of a house! Haha!! thelookoutguesthouse.com/
