….Cafe Zoot, in the Bail, just opposite The White Hart Hotel. It's a really good, reasonably priced restaurant. Think it's two courses weekday evenings for £10. Their menu is marked GF and they will happily confirm if the specials are ok too. I recommend the trio of fresh fish on a bed of ratatouille!
Another place is The Healthy Hub. It's just off the High Street at the bottom of Steep Hill. Think it's actual address is Beaumont Fee. It's a cafe and they do nice lunches - much is organic, and they always have gluten free desserts/cakes. I believe this is actually where the Lincs Coeliac group have their monthly coffee mornings. They always have gf bread in stock, so you are not always stuck with having a jacket spud, although the ones with mature cheddar and home made chutney are delicious.

From jooly w
Cafe Zoot have a sister restaurant on Guildhall Street which is not far from the bail area called Pomodoro Basillico and they do the same gluten free menus and are always very helpful

The Bull London Road, Bracebridge Heath, Lincoln LN4 2LA 01522 531215 I attended this pub on two consecutive nights, first night, in a party of four, two of of which were coeliacs and all I can say is outstanding It was relatively quiet but the chef came out to us on three occasions, the first time was on request, but he was brilliant, I basically told him what I would like and he did it and more! Two of us returned the following night having total confidence in the establishment and we were not disappointed, large portions and cooked to perfection. Ian Smith was the chef in charge, and is to be highly recommended. thebull-pub.co.uk/index.asp

The Deli Bistro, Burton Waters Lincoln Posted by JanT on 21/4/2012, 11:25:15 Hi A few weeks ago I visited the Deli Bistro for lunch. I rang prior to the visit to check they could cater for me. They seemed very knowledgeable re gluten free food and said that as they make all their food on the premises they would be able to adapt the food for me. The ‘special’ that day was fish and chips (it was a Friday!). Due to the batter this dish was not suitable for me but instead they suggested they could pan fry the fish and make me some sauté potatoes. It was one of the nicest dishes I have ever eaten. I would highly recommend this place. www.thedelibistro.co.uk

Wig & Mitre Lincoln
Posted by Jacky on 26/8/2013
Just back from a long weekend in Lincoln, we ate very well for two nights at the Wig & Mitre gastropub on Steep Hill in Lincoln. All the Gf otions are clearly marked on the menu. No ill effects and when a GF dessert came up with suspicious looking biscuit crumbs on it, it was replaced immediately with no problems (actually, before even asking). Very nice staff and a quiet traditional type pub place....

Cafe on Steep Hill, Lincoln Posted by AnnaB on 5/1/2014, 17:23:11
Went into a charming vintage style cafe yesterday (Bunty's Tearoom, 18 Steep Hill, Lincoln) and found that they have an excellent understanding of a gluten free diet. I was able to select from a range of items including soup and at least one GF cake. Thoroughly recommend it.

Excellent restaurant in Lincoln Posted by Anna on 24/6/2015 GF board Had an excellent lunch on Saturday in Lincoln at The Cheese Society Cheese Cafe on St Martin's Lane. GF items clearly marked on the menu and apparently they do gf cake too, although we were so full from lunch that there wasn't any room for cake. Very busy between 12noon and 2.00pm, but worthwhile joining the queue. www.thecheesesociety.co.uk/lincoln-cafe

GF board
We stayed in Lincoln recently at the Hollies, Carholme Rd and my COH was very well looked after. The owner has a coeliac family member. We had a good meal at Carluccio's where there was a full GF menu. We also ate well at Pomodoro e Basilico thanks to a suggestion on this site. It's good to share positive experiences. J

Just been to Lincoln and stayed in the premiere inn in the centre of town. Excellent awareness and one of the best prem inn brekkies we have had.all the usual items plus gf bubble and squeak! And a pile of lovely gf toast, cooked separately for us. Also went to the burton road chippy. They have one gf day a month but anytime u go u can have gf Chips as they have dedicated fryers and they will pan fry or poach any fish any day. The food was delicious, we ate in the spotless restaurant and had wine too. Five of us ate gf with drinks for under £50. Would highly recommend and they well deserve the best chippy award they recently won. Cafes in Newark had gf cake options too. Lincoln has all the chains that cater. An easy area to go gf!
