Tyndum, Scotland Posted by julieB on 18/5/2008
GF board
On the way home from Skye today we stopped at..
"The Real Food Cafe" at Tyndum (which is on the A82 just before the road forks for Fort William or Oban.) They have clearly marked menu and dedicated fryer. I had a gluten free haddock supper and loved every bite. Apart from the fact that it was delicious there was the added bonus of stopping somewhere because we were hungry and actually finding something I wanted and not what I had to make do with. Well done to the Real Food Cafe and if any of you are heading off to holiday in the Western Isles or even Loch Lomond, go and try them, it's a pretty drive. ...

.... I was there last year and really enjoyed the food and the manager was very helpful too. The fish was great. The batter is from the Polmont chippy in Falkirk. You can also eat some of the ice creams - you need to avoid the cranaghan one. If you want something simpler in the same place you can get GF soup and some other bits and pieces (I had some GF crisps with my soup and they were surprisingly good with it) in the Green Welly Boot Cafe just up the road 200 yards on the other side.
