HAD A GF VALENCIA ORANGE CAKE IN STARBUCKS. MY DAUGHTER AND SON IN LAW WERE WITH ME AND THEY WERE IN A TAPAS BAR IN CASTLE STREET WHICH HAVE A GREAT RANGE OF GF TAPAS BOTH MEAT AND VEGGIE. I ALSO HAD A LUNCH IN SHAPLA INDIAN RESTAURANT WHICH WAS GOOD WITH HELPFUL STAFF…… **************** Shapla Tandoori Restaurant 2 Castle Road Inverness Tel: 01463 226070 ************* www.ramadajarvis.co.uk/************** … I’d spent the night in a comfortable B&B called Ivanhoe, where they went to a lot of trouble to get me some gluten-free rolls for my breakfast. They prepared a buttered spare for my lunch with some salmon or meat that I might buy on the journey. I would certainly stay at Ivanhoe again. nikki » Thu Nov 06, 2008 6:45 pm Back from a glorious 5 day break in the Highlands. We ate out at Girvans restaurant (already on Supp Board) in Inverness (next to Eastgate centre) Very nice meal - and quite reasonable too! www.girvansrestaurant.co.uk/

The Mustard Seed, Fraser Street, by the river in central Inverness serves reliable GF food. Soup is often GF. The food is plentiful, well cooked and at lunchtime exceptionally reasonable at £6,95 for 2 courses. Just ask for Gf options. www.mustardseedrestaurant.co.uk/

Posted by David mc on 10/7/2013 GF board Anyone travelling from Fort William to Mallaig or on to Skye by ferry can eat well and GF at Glenfinnan (about 20 miles from Fort William) I recommend Glenfinnan House Hotel at the top of Loch Shiel. This is where the Hogwarts Express steam train crosses the famous viaduct. Staff very helpful and will adapt or make you something to suit. Great food, beautifully cooked. Daytimes you eat in the bar. There is a bar food menu which is not ideal for us but there are some specials daily and a main menu to choose from that is dearer but a lot more GF. Ask bar staff to find out what the kitchen can do for you. I ended up with a lovely unlisted dessert that was GF. By the way the hotel has real character and the views are to die for. www.glenfinnanhouse.com/*********************************************************************************** Cornerstone Restaurant Main Street, Mallaig PH41 4PU, Scotland +44 (0)1687 462 306. We enjoyed our visit to the cornerstone. The staff catered for our dietary requirements (Gluten Free) with no difficulty. Were friendly and attentive. The seafood was good. Would go back again. www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g635939-d1142457-r67409882-Cornerstone_Restaurant-Mallaig_Lochaber_Scottish_Highlands_Scotland.html
