Tea Shop near Helensburgh
(From UK-Coeliac, Yahoo)
Dear List
Just to say that I went to a teashop and garden centre today that
sells GF food and can do GF food and snacks.
It is the Ardaran Estate Farm Shop between Helensburgh and Cardross
(about 45 mins drive from Glasgow).
Frances (the group organiser for Glasgow) and I had pate and crackers
with salad. They had huge fresh cream coffee meringues that looked
delicious but as Frances wasn't having one I didn't want to be seen
having one all to myself
In the shop we bought some GF pasta sauces, they have a range of
quite unusual flavours such as tomato and almond. I bought some
smaller versions of the coffee meringue shells, their own free range
eggs and some farm grown vegetables. They also have frozen fruit
salads that are sold by weight and you scoop into bags. First time I
have seen that.
It is also good for children because as well as the garden centre,
they have hens and chickens clucking about, ducks and a pot-bellied
pig.
They also had raspberry picking on today. No we didn't - but next
time.
All this and it has lovely sea views too!
...........If anyone is going to be in the West of Scotland and wants to visit
the tea shop, the telephone number is 01389 849188.
My sense of direction isn't very good so you might want to phone them
for travel instructions!
With best wishes,
Elf

Sorry, typo.
It is in fact the ARDARDAN Estate Farm Shop (not Ardaran as I said in
previous post).
