Milk shakes/ smoothies

Like most parents, we used to always worry about our son having sufficient calcium in his diet so used to make a lot of different milk based drinks.
A blender (hand held would be OK) just milk, and:
+strawberries with a little vanilla. When in season (which now seems to be all year long!) use fresh strawberries. You can substitute with frozen. +for a thicker shake add some banana to the chosen other fruit +raspberries are also good, if a little sharper in taste. To sweeten - add some ripe banana. +banana and cocoa (best if a couple of spoons of cocoa are first mixed with a little hot water or hot milk before adding the rest of the ingredients) +For chocolate coconut: add some coconut milk and cocoa (again first mix the cocoa powder with a little hot water or hot milk) +blackberries (try also with some apple) +blackcurrants or redcurrants (if the taste is not sweet enough use some vanilla extract and/or some banana) +pear +apple and pear
Really, whatever is in your fruit bowl with the exception of citrus fruits.
