GF eating Norfolk Broads

GF board
There's a pub in Hickling village that does GF. The Angel in Ingham is great. The Star in Lessingham understands GF too.

We went last year and found eating gluten free easy around Norfolk. Awareness seemed good but I can only recall the name of one place, the three cottages chippy, north walsham. It was fab. Make the trip. But we found cafes and pubs that accommodated no problem and supermarkets were well stocked. We were in dressing ham and the pubs catered, went to sheringham and found a nice little sweet shop too....

That's possibly Dersingham, the supermarket there is Budgens. Tesco and Sainsburys in Hunstanton have small selections, much larger ones at Kings Lynn. That's all on the west coast though ...

Norfolk Broads Posted by Bill D on 23/6/2017
GF board
Just back from 2 weeks on the Norfolk Broads. A few places that deserve mention. Had superb meal at the Waveney house hotel in Beccles, good GF choices, lovely riverside setting. Twyfords tea room also in Beccles, sat in their secret garden having tea and GF scone/butter/jam/cream, very naughty but it had to be done. Also nice meal at the Bridge Inn Acle, good GF menu and GF beer. Also at Acle Pedro's restaurant, good GF range although not able to try it out this time. Went by train to Cromer to sample their famous crabs I have heard about. Very disappointed, expected to see cafes, restaurants, tea rooms, sea front kiosks etc shouting Cromer Crabs, you would not know you were there. Box ticked, will not hurry back. Bill D
